Be sure to keep a look out for the exchanges information evening usually organized by the Local Exchange Officer (LEOs) at your university when applications open. You will get information on the exchanges and on many other topics and questions during this event. You might also get the opportunity to interact with previous outgoings from your university!
Summer 2017 marks our very first SCOPE exchanges in Ireland, where we sent out 15 students to 9 countries! We are pleased to receive many feedback from our first batch of outgoing students, and these are very helpful for interested medical students to get country-specific information. You can find these unique experiences here.
You will face diverse cultures and ways of thinking, especially in the medical field, when doing an exchange outside of Europe. The locals may have different expectations of you, and share a different healthcare system. Such differences are not necessarily easy to understand and adapt to.
In order to prepare you better for the exchange, we are working to offer you a Pre-Departure Training that will take place on a national level in April 2018. This will also be an excellent opportunity for you to link up with other selected students going to the same country as you. More details will follow closer to the date.
